For some travelling is a passion, for others, it’s just business, while for some, particularly less frequent travellers, it can be a daunting experience. For some of us who travel more often, we tend to have a list of priority tasks that we make sure to do to make our travel more comfortable. These list of chores are tried and tested and can be used by anyone who wishes to make their travelling experience a less intimidating one.

Avert any Unpredictable Setbacks

Travelling mishaps and disasters are more common than you may know. Flight cancellations, delays, emergency evacuations and luggage related mishaps are all too frequent than one may realise. It is always best to be prepared for the worst. Make sure you reserve all your travel amenities that can be reimbursed. Be it your flight tickets, hotel reservations or the car service you have chosen, tourists usually make all such bookings with a credit card that reimburses all such amenities. Another option to consider is travel insurance, which covers any travel related accidents including trip cancellations, flight accidents, lost luggage and medical expenses thereof.

Avoid Jetlag

Is avoiding jetlag even possible? For long distance flights, jetlags are bound to affect travellers one way or another. With a few tips and tricks, they can be curbed to the maximum. First and foremost, you can set your watch to the travel destination’s time zone once you start your journey. Then all you have to do is eat and sleep according to the time of your destination.

Keep Yourself Hydrated

It is important to drink ample amount of water 24 hours before travelling. Jetliners tend to suck air from outside in order to provide oxygen to passengers. The trouble is that air at such high altitudes tends to have little if any moisture. One should take care to travel with a refillable bottle that can be carried easily.

Choose Your Plane Seats Ahead of Time

Your plane seats may very well be the most important part of your travel. Choosing them ahead of time can save you from ending up with seats at the very back with the toilet or ones with little legroom. Always make sure to choose seats somewhere in the middle of the plane and preferably an aisle seat. The seats at the end of the plane also tend to have equipment boxes nearby or an immovable armrest.

Beware of Credit Card Scams

It is always wise to tell your bank that you are travelling. Banks generally take precautions to monitor your transactions extra carefully in case you lose your credit/debit card or have it stolen. In case of any suspicious activity, they notify you and block the card accordingly. Also, make sure the places you use your credit card use identity authentication measures that can help them weed out fraudsters.

These are just some of the important to-dos that you must take care of every time you travel. With a little precaution and preparation ahead of time, you can make your travel experience a far more pleasant one.
