Palace on wheel is the first luxury train in India for travelling places. It started on 26th January 1982 with the joining efforts of Indian Railways and Rajasthan. It was built with the inspiration of royal coaches of Maharajas. With the idea to provide a royal experience to travellers, the palace on wheels had launched.

Palace on wheels acclaimed PATA Gold Award(Pacific Asia Travel Association) in 1987. The train looks like a 5-star hotel on wheels with a multi-cuisine restaurant, spa and two lounge bars. With technological advancements, the train had been refurbished many times. High-speed internet and other business class features for corporate and conferences are provided on the train. It covers all the major cities like Jaisalmer, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Fatehpur Sikri, Ranthambore, Delhi and Agra.

Restaurants:

It contains 2 lavish dining cars named as Maharaja Restaurant and Maharani Restaurant. You can find the multi-cuisine menu here, including traditional Indian cuisine, which changes according to the purpose. The most important dishes to taste at the Palace on Wheels are Rajasthani and Marwari dishes.

Royal cabins or Coaches:

Palace on wheels Rajasthan contains two types of cabins Super Deluxe cabins and Deluxe cabins. Beautiful artwork, rich silk fabric and antique wood furniture will add to the luxury of the train. Royal cabins are accomplished with individual temperature controllers, telephones, internet connectivity, luxury toilets, electronic safes, complimentary beverages and snacks, mailbox, butler access, doctor service and hair dryers.

Each cabin has a special availability of officers calling Khidmatgar to meet your needs on the train. Palace on Wheels contains 13 carriages which are dedicated to deluxe rooms. It contains 1 super deluxe coach which is named as ‘Taj Mahal’.
